Northern Saskatchewan is known for its big bruins: average bears run 350 pounds, and we kill bears over 7 feet tall that weigh in around 500 pounds. These bears are a product of healthy genetics and the landscape where they thrive. BCO is known for putting customers in positions to kill these world-class animals. Every year, our clients at Buck Country Outfitters shoot trophy-book bears.
Bear hunting occurs during the last three weeks of May. It’s a short season, at a time when bears are very active. Here are some details about the trip:
PLEASE REMEMBER THAT YOU NEED A PASSPORT AND PHOTO ID TO TRAVEL BETWEEN CANADA AND THE USA
The travel to our lodge is the responsibility of each hunter. Our guests typically fly into Edmonton or Saskatoon. From there, most rent a car for the 3.5 hour drive to our remote lodge.
Arrival- You should arrive at the camp around 2:00 p.m. on Sunday afternoon. This is your opportunity to take your gear to your assigned rooms and shoot your weapons to ensure they are sighted in. Dinner begins at 7:30 p.m. in the lodge. There will be no hunting on this day. You will be out hunting with your guide early the next morning.
Departure- Plan to leave Saturday evening or Sunday morning. If you have been successful, we request that you depart on Saturday to give us time to clean up for the next group. If required, you will hunt until dark on Saturday to ensure that you have every opportunity possible to shoot a trophy animal.
We are here to make all our guest bookings as simple and efficient as possible. If you’re interested in coming, please call or email us.
